Leh – Ladakh is the northern province of India which has become and Union Territory recently on 31 October 2019, covering approximately 60,000 square miles (100,000 sq. km). It has two district Kargil and Leh with a total population of approx 3 Lakh. It is surrounded and bisected by some of the highest mountain ranges in the world.
Running in a generally northwest to southeast direction through Ladakh, the great Himalayan Range separates the Vale of Kashmir from Ladakh.

How to Reach Leh - Ladakh

Regular flight from Delhi to Leh and return ( One hour and 10 minutes only ). Though you may have connections from Jammu and Chandigarh. (couple of days in a week and subject to change). Srinagar to Leh or vice versa is just once in a week. As of now Delhi to Leh only 4 flights are operational.

The Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) located at the outskirts, provides connectivity with other regions of the Northeast with regular buses for major cities and tourist destinations of the neighbouring states. Guwahati is also well connected by road with the rest of the country.National Highway 31 and 37 are the two road connections to Guwahati.Guwahati is well connected with rest of the State by ASTC services and many private transport systems.

Manali to Leh:
Ladakh is approx 1050 Kms from Delhi-Manali-Leh. While as Manali to Leh is approx 500 Km. and can be reached by overnight VOLVO from Delhi to Manali and further Manali to Leh in two days ( need to stay en route due to long and high altitude drive, Jispa or Sarchu will be option to stay at).

Srinagar to Leh
Srinagar to Leh is Approx 450 Kms from Srinagar to Leh via Kargil. Can be completed in two days.

Leh
Leh India is one of the favorite tourist destinations located in the northernmost parts of the country. Lapped in the snow-covered fringes of the Himalayas, Leh India has been the center of Tibeto-Buddhist culture since ages. Its colorful gompas have attracted the devout Buddhists from all over the globe. Besides, it is also a favorite hiking locale and is known for some of the best hikes in India.
Drass
On the road to Kargil, about 60 kms west of Kargil, lies the small town of Drass, in the Drass Valley. It is the second coldest inhabited place in the world. Repeated snowfall in the winters, plummet its temperature to less than minus 40 degrees. The Zozila pass, the Himalayan gateway to Ladakh, is from where the Drass valley commences.
Kargil
Located in the centre of the Himalayan region with the most pleasing natural beauty, majestic hills and tremendous potential for adventure activities, Kargil is the second largest urban centre of Ladakh. It is situated at an altitude of about 2704 m, and 204 km from Srinagar in the west and 234 km from Leh in the east. The town is nestled along the rising hillside of the Suru basin. It is the confluence point of the Drass and Wakha tributaries of the Suru River.
Sarchu
Situated about 105 km from Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti District of Himachal Pradesh, Sarchu is one of the favourite sites among the trekkers. It is a famous camping site for tourists enroute to Ladakh. Sarchu provides a gateway to Leh District. Located on the border of Jammu and Kashmir, the city offers marvellous views of the majestic Himalayas and spellbinding scenery.
